Mike PeQueen, CFA®, CFP™ has more than 30 years of experience in the investment profession and joined HighTower in 2012 as a Managing Director and Partner. Formerly, Mike was a Senior Vice President of Investments and Senior Portfolio Manager at Merrill Lynch. His interest in finance and investments started when he was very young, driving his educational and career choices.
Mike continues to focus on high-level investment strategy as well as financial planning. He has advised hundreds of clients during his career and is passionate about helping people achieve their financial goals.
Mike holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) and a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP™) designations. He also earned a Master degree in Banking and Financial Services from Boston University. Mike is a regular contributor to CNBC and has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.
Mike is the Co-founder and Director of Dental Care International, a non-profit organization providing oral health care to countries such as Sri Lanka, Ecuador and Brazil. He also currently serves as a member of the board of Chamber Insurance Benefits and as a trustee of the Neon Museum in Las Vegas. Outside of the office, Mike likes to travel and cycle, which he often combines by riding his bicycle in some of the world's most interesting places.
Hugh Anderson is a Managing Director at HighTower Las Vegas.
A Long Island native, Hugh brings more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry to the team. Hugh is dedicated to providing clients with knowledgeable insight and distinctly contrarian investment strategies. He is an avid market, economic and geo-political watcher. His focus is finding creative perspectives that go against conventional wisdom and help position client portfolios to profit from those discoveries. He prides himself on being able to communicate even the most complex concepts in terms any audience can understand.
Hugh is passionate about helping people pursue their dreams and strives to minimize clients' stress of managing their finances so they can enjoy the truly important things in life. Despite his long industry tenure, Hugh is not content with resting on his professional laurels. He is dedicated to ongoing professional growth and commits a considerable amount of time every year to continuing education.
Hugh holds the Certified Financial Planner(tm) (CFP(tm)), Certified Investment Management Analyst(r) (CIMA(r)) and Chartered Financial Consultant(r) (ChFC(r)) designations. He holds a Bachelor of the Arts degree and his Master of Business Administration degree from Hofstra University.
A Las Vegas resident since 1984, Hugh is active in the community. He has served as Chairman of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, the St. Rose Dominican Hospital Community board, the St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation and the Nevada Council on Economic Development. He currently serves as Chairman of the government affairs committee for the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, and is a Trustee for Roseman University of Health Sciences.
Hugh married his high school sweetheart, Denise, and is the proud father of adult children Ashlee and Alex. An avid reader and political enthusiast, Hugh's other passions include movies, good food and playing the drums.
Ned Evans, CRPC®, is a Managing Director and Partner at HighTower Las Vegas.
Ned began his career in the investment profession in 1984 at E.F Hutton and Co. Prior to joining HighTower, Ned was First Vice President of Investments and Senior Portfolio Manager for the Merrill Lynch PIA Program. Throughout his career, he has advised hundreds of families and businesses on investment strategies, retirement planning and cash management. Many clients have worked with him for more than two decades. He continues to advise multiple generations of these same families.
Ned earned his Bachelor of the Arts degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University, and he remains active in the BYU Alumni Association. He holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® (CRPC®) designation.
Ned and his wife, Crystal, have four wonderful children. In his leadership role with the Boy Scouts of America, Ned has participated in numerous Eagle Scout projects. Because Ned loves recreating in the great outdoors, he spends his precious free time skiing, cycling and fly-fishing with family and friends.
Sheila joined HighTower in 2012 as a Managing Director and Partner of HighTower Las Vegas, following a 34-year career in financial services at Merrill Lynch.
An advocate of the team approach to wealth management, Sheila’s role continues to focus on the development and implementation of wealth management programs and strategies for clients and their families. She works with families with special needs children, as well as families with both new and multigenerational wealth to help create governance around the spending, saving and sharing of family resources. Shelia is driven by her passion for the creation of customized, comprehensive strategies to help clients realize their goals.
Sheila joined Merrill Lynch within weeks of graduating from Torrejon High School in Madrid, Spain. Her education in the financial services profession was from the bottom up. She learned the basics by completing an internal economics program created by Donald T. Regan, former CEO of the firm and Treasury Secretary of the United States. She was one of the first women to be licensed as a financial advisor in her community.
A member of the Las Vegas community for 35 years, Sheila has served on the Nevada Community Foundation Advisors Council, and is currently serving on the Foundation Board of Opportunity Village.
She is married to her husband of 34 years, Michael. Their two adult children, Damien and Gina, have blessed them with four grandchildren who command all of their spare time.
Adam Thurgood, CFA®, CFP® joined HighTower in 2012 as a Managing Director and Partner of HighTower Las Vegas.
Adam's role at HighTower is focused on managing client portfolios. He leads the team's research and investment process, which focuses on helping clients achieve their goals while properly managing risk. Adam began his career in the financial services industry in 2000 with Prudential Securities. He was a Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager in Merrill Lynch's PIA Program.
Adam earned his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He graduated magna cum laude and was an ITA Scholar-athlete while playing tennis for the Rebels. He also holds a Master degree in Banking and Financial Services from Boston University, as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst®
(CFA®) designation. Adam is regularly quoted in the financial press and has appeared numerous times on CNBC, as well as other radio and TV programs.
Adam is an ardent supporter of financial education. He served as an adjunct finance professor at UNLV from 2009-2014, and is also a board member of Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada, a non-profit organization aimed at improving financial literacy among today's youth. Adam has also traveled the world in various capacities for the CFA Institute.
Originally from Utah, Adam is an avid skier and runner, and enjoys watching and playing soccer. He loves music and has recorded several original songs on the ukulele. Adam married UNLV Rebel tennis star Aga Abram in 2004.
Danna Jarvis joined HighTower in 2012 as a Client Service Manager for HighTower Las Vegas, and has recently transitioned into the role of Senior Relationship Manager.
Danna began her career in the financial services industry in 1998. Over the years, she held several different positions with Bank of America and Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. She was also an operations manager for a local insurance company, and holds the Series 7 and 66 licenses.
Originally from Alberta, Canada, Danna moved to Utah to attend Brigham Young University. After finishing at BYU, and living in New York for a few years, Danna and her family decided to settle in Las Vegas.
Rayna is a Senior Financial Analyst at HighTower Las Vegas. Her background in finance coupled with skills in research, analysis and the interpretation of financial data positions Rayna to support the team in the creation of thoughtful, data-driven investment strategies.
Rayna’s responsibilities include assisting the team with a variety of portfolio management tasks, such as quantitative analysis and investment and market research. A Bulgarian native and fluent Spanish-speaker, Rayna’s diverse background and life experiences enable her to bring distinct perspectives to both the team and clients.
Prior to joining HighTower Las Vegas, Rayna was an intern at Merrill Lynch. She also worked as an intern at the Investments Branch of the Bulgarian Financial Supervision Commission, where she was introduced to the regulatory side of the financial industry.
Rayna earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a focus on Finance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In her spare time, Rayna enjoys gardening, traveling and spending time with her sons, Boyan and Krum.
Seth Crawley joined HighTower Las Vegas in 2016 as an Associate. In his role, he focuses on supporting the team, business operations and enhancing the client service experience.
Seth earned his Bachelor of the Arts degree in Economics from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2014. During his studies, he was a leader in student government, representing more than 3,000 students in the Lee Business School. He was also a member of the Rebel Investment Group, a student-managed investment fund of more than $100,000.
Seth is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and currently holds the Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses.
In his free time, he is an avid golfer, film buff and actively involved in his church.
Prior to joining the HighTower team, Shelby was a Registered Client Associate with Wells Fargo Advisors. She is also a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Shelby currently holds the Series 7 and 63 licenses, and is working towards a degree in Business.
In her free time, she is an avid runner, snowboarder, food & wine critic and actively involved in her community.
